We are excited to announce that that we are accepting application and nominations for the fall session of the Texas State Leadership Capstone Program: Step Forward, Give Back! We are seeking established and advanced student leaders who have demonstrated effective leadership qualities/abilities and are interested in refining those skills in order to assume greater leadership roles, continue service to others, and promote positive social change at Texas State and beyond.

The program consists of seven 3-hour sessions on Fridays (9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 11/1, 11/8) and one Saturday session (11/9). The program is FREE with the expectation that selected students make the commitment to attend all eight sessions*. Friday sessions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch will be provided.
This course will explore the complexities of leadership, focus on formation of self-identification and self-awareness as a leader, development of applied knowledge and skills, and real-world application of good leadership and followership. Topics will include:
*Students who successfully attend all of the sessions will be eligible to receive a $300 travel scholarship to support attendance in Legends of China, an international cultural immersion program held during the summer.
Recognizing that student leaders play a key role both on and off campus, we are hoping to recruit approximately 25 students who have demonstrated leadership qualities associated with the core values of the Leadership Institute through their thoughts, words, and actions. Applicants may be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students.
