LBJ Presidential Library Trip
Each year, The Texas State Leadership Institute partners with the The LBJ Presidential Library and Museum to commemorate the signing of the 1965 Higher Education Act by President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Texas State sends 25 student leaders to serve as campus delegates and engage in activities and discussions with experts on the life and legacy of President Johnson and the various initiatives that he championed, including the Higher Education Act. We strongly believe that the opportunity for our students to listen and connect with leaders who worked with and were inspired by one of our most distinguished graduates will have a profound impact on their own leadership journeys.
We are pleased to announce that this year's collaborative event will be held on Friday, November 13th, 2020 through a virtual format. Special guests will include Dr. Mark Lawrence, Director of the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum, Mr. Mark Updegrove, President and CEO of the LBJ Foundation, and Mrs. Luci Baines Johnson Turpin, businesswoman, philanthropist and daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson.
If interested in attending, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for information on this year's delegate selection process.
COVID-19 UPDATE: To ensure the safety of our participants and the Leadership Institute team, our LBJ Presidential Library trip will be held virtually. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.
